CNC PANcake MAchine
Group Design Project
This CNC pancake machine was part of my Mechatronics Design Class (ME102B). Our group decided to make an automated process for making customized pancakes. This pancake making machine takes a picture of your face, converts your face into a binary image, uses the binary image to create g-code, then uses the g-code to print your face with pancake batter onto a griddle.
The batter is stored in a pressure vessel that is pressurized with compressed air. The batter is pumped to the nozzel which is opened and closed by a solenoid. The nozzle is fixed on a 2 axis CNC stage which rests just above the griddle.
For this project, I programmed an Arduino with a CNC program called GRBL to control the CNC stage. I was also responsible for designing and wiring the circuits to operate the solenoids. Lastly I designed the pressure vessel system and the valves to regulate the flow of batter.
